There are a number of things I absolutely love - in no particular order - food, exercise, sport, my friends & family, and seeing people fulfil their potential and achieving goals they never thought possible. From an early age I was very fortunate enough to realise what I wanted to do. I wanted to inspire, I wanted to pave the way, I wanted to lead. I'm on a journey, I’m on a mission, a journey to fulfil my potential in every aspect of my life and to help as many people as possible to do the exact same. I'm a firm believer that we all deserve to be happy, healthy and fit and to feel in control of our lives!
If we can do that then that allows us to present the best versions of ourselves to the world. I want you to realise that where you are now is a direct result of your past choices. But you see the problem is that the majority don’t want that responsibility. They'll blame their circumstances, they'll find an excuse, they'll blame external variables they don’t want to take responsibility for their health, their happiness, their lifestyle, or their habits. Whereas ultimately, it's your habits which determine your lifestyle and your lifestyle is in fact responsible for your results. The biggest issue in this day and age is what I call the treadmill syndrome. We're all on a treadmill, chasing the dollar, chasing happiness, chasing fulfilment which leaves us with less time to devote to ourselves and so we neglect our health, our wellbeing and forget to make ourselves a priority.
When the Dalai Lama was asked what surprised him most about humanity, he replied " Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. He is then so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived”
I want you to step away from the mindset of thinking it's selfish to devote time to yourself or to focus on you. If you make yourself a priority and make your health a priority it, then translates into every aspect of your life. You can give more to your family, to your friends to your spouse, to your work. You become a better version of yourself. My mission is to help as many people as possible live a life where their health and well being becomes a priority. I want you to use health and exercise to translate happiness and balance into every aspect of your life so when it's time to turn up you turn up presenting the best version of yourself!
I say I’m fortunate to realise what my purpose was so early in my life but as with anyone there have been certain experiences in my life which have moulded me into who I am and have helped me discover my purpose. The sense of purpose and balance, the feeling of knowing I'm constantly working on becoming the best version of me liberates me and it excites me. Knowing I'm in a position where I can help people experience the same feelings and zest for life I have is what drives me, motivates me and gets me out of bed in the morning.
Don’t do it for me or anyone else. Do it for yourself, no one else but yourself. When you make this decision it’s just like throwing a pebble into the ocean you cause a ripple effect. You become a better friend, a better spouse, a better colleague a better parent, a better version of you. I can't wait to see the change.
Your habits become your lifestyle, your lifestyle determines your results
My Story
From a junior athletic champion to a fat, chubby, self-conscious adolescent thinking the world owed me something. I went from being bullied to being the bully. If I couldn’t achieve my goals then I'd find an excuse. Heck I wanted to bring others down, so I felt better about myself. Who would have thought that the reason why was staring back at me the whole time?
I was brought up by dad from the age of one. Him and I are best friends and even though we weren’t materialistically rich we were wealthy in so many ways. He taught me compassion and empathy. He taught me to always look for the best in people and when no one else believed in me he was always there. I was fortunate to have such an amazing role model and someone who was always fighting in my corner. Achieving what I have wouldn’t have been possible without his support and guidance.
I’ve been through hardship, I’ve experienced the social angst of being over weight and insecure, I know what it’s like to feel down, worthless and lonely but I also know what its like to live a life of passion, excitement and fulfilment and I’d choose the latter any day of the week. I believe everyone has a “F#$k this” moment. A moment where enough is enough. The catalyst to change, to become a better version of themselves. What that is? I can’t tell you but when you find it, it’s like pouring gasoline onto a fire. There’s a desire, a drive to be better. That drive for me is constant, its relentless it’s a way of life.
To be the best I can be in every aspect of my life is a constant work in progress, a work in progress which excites me every morning before my feet touch the floor. We all deserve to live our best life and to fulfill our potential. I’ve made it my mission to help as many people as possible realise this by channeling my passion and drive into helping individuals as well as groups create a lifestyle conducive to them achieving their goals. In my 10 years of running a successful fitness business I’ve had the privilege of working with 1000's of people from all walks of life. From Body transformations to helping the busiest of individuals attain lifestyle balance and purpose.
